At the beginning, I loved it, super sharp. However after few uses, the back of the knife became rusted, don’t understand how could a stainless steel knife went rusted after such a short time of use. I’d say around 3 weeks

Yes, there are two manufacturing points for these: Spain and China. I have had ZERO success with cutlery of any brand manufactured in red china (chipped cutting edges, even had a blade break in half while washing it!). Avoid the red chinese trash knives.These made-in-Spain knives are great for our kitchen uses. Also, if you sharpen your own, they take a good edge. 10/10!

I've been downsizing various possessions and, when I saw this knife at a great price on Prime Day, decided to treat myself to an excellent knife. I'd accumulated a number of lesser blades over the years. What was I thinking? This well-balanced, exquisitely sharp knife replaces most of them. I'm small boned and have arthritis in my wrists. Without stress or strain, this Henckels knife slices easily through tomatoes and fresh bread, readily separates chops, breezes through every task I ask of it. There's a reason this company has been around nearly 4 centuries--the quality is amazing, the weight perfectly suited for my small hands.The service was was prompt and the product is fantastic. I can get rid of most of my lesser knives. I wish I had gotten this sooner.

I bought this knife as an alternative to the much pricier Wusthof based upon the good reviews. I really didn't care for the squared off edges on the handle, but I figured I'd put up with them as a compromise for the cheaper price. When I pulled it out of its package and washed it, I noticed that there was a small nick in the blade edge. That was the deciding point for me to return it and find a more comfortably fitting knife. I guess I'm just spoiled by the feel and performance of my Wusthof chef's knife and might have to spend a bit more to be satisfied.

So disappointed in this knife! It wasn't finished--every metal edge was sharp and rough like it needed to be sanded. And the blade wasn't sharpened completely either. I wonder if it's an authentic product? I had to take a metal nail file to the edges so they're acceptable now. Plus I had to sharpen it myself! I have other products by this company but will not buy any more if the quality has dropped so far. Definitely not recommended!

I wasn't really in the market for this type of knife but when I saw the price was reduced from $44.99 to $17.31 used I thought I would take a chance on a used knife since Amazon has an excellent return policy. But before I did that I did some research at the CIA to find out what this particular knife was used for and after seeing how it was used I decided to take a chance on it. The only problem with the knife was the packaging, one corner was pushed in however there was no damage to the knife at all. The difference between a chef's knife and a santoku is how it's used. The santoku is a chopper with a forward motion, the chef's knife is used in a rocking rearward slicing motion although both can be used either way. There is apparently very little difference between the knives except style. I am very happy with this purchase.
